From where does the term ‘Cordwainer’ derive?

‘Cordwainer’ is an anglicisation of the French word cordonnier, which derives from the city of Cordoba in southern Spain—famous for the production of cordovan leather, also known as ‘cordwain’ in England.

Cordwainers are highly skilled shoemakers who use the finest-quality leather to produce shoes and other luxury products. The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers was founded in medieval London.

Cordwain leather was originally made from the skin of the Musoli goat, produced by a method supposedly known only to the Moors. The leather grew and grew in popularity until it became the most sought-after shoe material across Europe.

What is the delivery timescale?

We are proud to make all of our shoes from scratch once an order has been placed, and have partnered with FedEX to ensure timely delivery.

Generally speaking, if you use our Free Express Shipping service, your package should arrive within five to ten working days.

What is Cordwainers’ returns policy?

We offer an easy return/exchange service on all orders, unless items are marked as ‘final sale’. Items must be returned within 15 days of the order date and be in unused condition.
